Good morning America!!!

So I'm out front working on the wifes expedition when I hear this sound coming overhead.

Then I look up to see this. 3 feet apart, 200 feet over my
house.

I didnt take that pic unfortunately. I go inside to get my camera, batteries are dead. GO back outside see them fly around some more. Wait I have another camera, go grab it, batteries are dead in it as well...

Ah well just as such they practice again tomorrow.

and if the sound of 6 F16's flying 200 feet over your house, 3 feet apart from each other, going 500 mph doesnt give you a woody.
You are just Un American!!

More videos to make you wet your self. These guys are just insane.

FD training

I found some old video that I did of some FD training. Its around 1998 at Lincoln Parish FD in Ruston Louisiana.

Its a flashover prop. To set it up, its two shipping like containers. One is turned vertical, the other is butted against it horizontal. The end with all the fire is double layered plywood on three sides and the top. There are baffles about 4-5 feet up in the section where the students sit. The fire burns, and all the superheated gas and air layers down and moves to the back. When it gets hot enough it burst into flames. The air is burning at this point. The baffles help control the burn.

We all have aluminum foil on our hats to help protect our heads. We are kneeling or sitting on the floor, and the flames are about 2-3 feet above our heads. At its hottest its 1200 degrees F at the top, and 500 degrees F where we are sitting at the base of the flames.

Flashover Training

In the infamous words of Beavis and Butthead...Heh Heh Fire Fire!!!

Bolder Boulder

Yep I did it. Went and got myself registered for the Bolder Boulder. Its a mosh pit of sorts for 10K, or 6. 3ish miles) This takes place Monday btw....

Here is the link.
http://www.bolderboulder.com

I'll be runnin it, just not fast. I hope to keep a 10 minute/mile pace, and then turn it on at the end and finish in just under one hour.

I took my official PT test about a week or so ago, and while it aint great I did improve. I ran 1.5 miles in 12 mins flat. did 52 push ups, and 51 sit ups in one minute, lost 4 lbs and 2 inches off my waist. I was running way to fast for that, so hopefully the pace will be lots easier on Monday.

Wish me luck!

Masters degree

This really irks me. and I dont get irked easily. I am working towards a degree in Homeland Security through an online college. I had everything covered by tuition assistance through the military. However now this school has decided to increase it's fees per credit hour by 25 dollars. this equates to 75-100 bucks per class plus books. I usually take two courses a semester. Honestly I cant pay this, and I dont want to pay this is more to the point. I also had put the program on an official hold through the school while I was out of pocket for a while. Now when I look at my courses, some of them are not available. I need 6 more hours in my core concentration classes, two 3 hour classes. They only have one class available.

So I wrote them a dirty gram and said WTF Over? I've already found another place online, that will give me a "scholarship" to cover what TA doesnt pay. All the course materials are free as well. It would suck though as it means more classes. I'm only 5 away now from finishing in the first place....
